New game

Today, Daddy discovered that you now pull a covering off your face so an epic game of peekaboo commenced. Big smiles from you and from Daddy!

First ride on Daddy's shoulders

On Sunday

First tastes

A few weeks ago, you licked pieces of Granny's breakfast: peach, pear and plum. Last week, you tried nectarine and banana and you had proper mouthfuls of both. You gnawed away at the nectarine (we cut the skin off and cut grooves into it) for ages!!

You chewed the end off the banana, the look on your face was priceless.

Time goes so fast

I can't believe you're almost six months old (23 weeks tomorrow).

In the past few weeks, you've had some tastes of fruit - a few licks of peach, pear and nectarine when Granny was having breakfast and a nibble of a nectarine a few days ago (you were gnawing little chunks off it and chewing them!).

You're very close to sitting up and enjoy a bit of time sat in your bebepod. The door bouncer is also a favourite. You seem to love the dogs, reaching out to them when they run past.

No teeth yet but I think they're bothering you. You chew and rub things against your top gum as often as you can.

You love people and other babies.

We've got your Christening in the diary for 4 September. Granny will be doing the service for us.

You're a smiley little thing and so pretty, prone to the odd strop (you clearly know what you want). I'm very proud to be your mummy.

Road to recovery

Today I saw a nice Doctor at the Mother and Baby unit about the PND. She was very kind, thinks it's likely to be an accumulation of things rather than one thing in particular but that anti-depressants are needed. She's prescribed me a variety that are perhaps less effective than others but are safer to take while breastfeeding. I've taken my first one already.

Hope to be a happier mummy soon xx

First giggle

About ten minutes ago. Very, very proud of you my precious girl xx

Familial Similarities

Looking at old photos, maybe you're more like Mummy than we first thought...

And we also discovered you share more than just your eye colour with my Granny (your Granny's mummy):

Sitting Up and Blowing Raspberries

You're starting to learn to sit up - not quite unaided yet but you're getting there! However, worryingly, you far prefer standing - fingers crossed you're not an early walker like I was.

You still enjoy a kick and you're loving your bouncy chair (especially now the kick pad works).

You can also grab the hanging toys when the mood takes you:

You experimented in Lola's jumperoo too, I'm not sure we'll get on as you also love your door bouncer, but it was good fun.

In the last few days, you've also started blowing raspberries. I'm torn between trying to curb it early and playing along! With Daddy enjoying it so much, I think you'll probably be doing it for a while yet.
