Happy Easter!

We've had a long weekend for Easter - that means four Daddy days! He has been enjoying extra cuddles and smiles.

On Saturday, Daddy played rugby and it was very hot. You're not keen on the heat I don't think but you were a good girl. Grandad came to watch Daddy and see you.

On Easter Sunday, we went to Granny and Papa's house for lunch - Roast Lamb, yummy!

You had a few pressies, £5 from Jan and Malcolm who live next door to Nanna, a teething rattle from Granny and Papa and a blanket and knitted bunny from your Fairy Godmother, Auntie Kerry. You love your blanket:

10 weeks old

It's Good Friday (Granny will explain all about that when you're older) and you're 10 weeks old today.

Although you can't do it yourself, you like being sat up so you can see what's going on. Even better if whoever holding you has a wander at the same time.

You're a smiley baby and it's wonderful:

You've been sleeping from 10-7 for weeks now but last night you slept from 8-6.30 with a dream feed (a feed while you slept) at 11ish.

We saw the NCT ladies on Wednesday and you're so little compared to them - there's a month between you and the next baby up who was there this week. You're probably about the same size as Grace, who is two weeks older than you.

Daddy is off work today and Monday for Easter and then again next Friday and Monday for the Royal Wedding and May Day Bank Holiday. It's nice to have so much time with him.

Immunisations

At 9 weeks old, I should have posted something about your first set of jabs by now. You were booked in last Tuesday but you weren't yourself on Monday so I cancelled the appointment.

I will book you in for them but when I feel you're in the best place to cope with them. So long as you're up to date when you're four months old, you'll be fine.

Love you poppet xx

Meet the Godparents...

My beautiful baby, I think it's high time I announced your Godparents. Traditionally for a baby girl, you have three Godparents: two Godmothers and a Godfather.

I think Daddy and I asked Auntie Kerry and Uncle Mark before I had my first scan when I was pregnant with you. They are very close to Daddy and I and will be just as close to you, I'm sure. They were over the moon to be asked and love you very much indeed.

For your second Godmother, we asked my oldest friend and your Auntie Laura. I've known Auntie Laura since we were about two years old and I think it's a testament to our friendship that we're still close now. She was honoured to be asked and is very excited to be your Godmother.

Obviously, you don't just have the support of your Godparents. Your Granny, Papa, Aunties, Uncles and Cousins; your Nanna, Grandad and Uncle Rhys and Auntie Jo; and Daddy and my other close friends, Auntie Hannah and Uncle Simon in particular. I'm sure all of them would ask me to tell you that they love you very much and are here for you to lean on if you need them.

It goes without saying that Daddy and I are here for whatever you need, whenever you need it too. We love you very much xxx

Talking

You love to spend time on your back kicking and grinning and talking to me (or anyone else who talks to you).

I love it. You try and copy the noises we make.

Precious little one.

Daddy's Birthday

Wednesday was Daddy's birthday and he had the afternoon off work so he could see a man about a tattoo and spend some time with his girls.

All your cousins were at Granny and Papa's so we had birthday tea with the birthday cake you and I baked from one of the cook books you bought me for Mother's Day.

It's made from courgettes! It's okay though, it still tasted nice.

You bought Daddy the new Foo Fighters album and he loved it.

Auntie Laura and Uncle Nigel's Wedding: 9 April 2011

Another wedding!

You came to the church service and were beautifully behaved but a little confused to be able to hear Granny but not see her! Littles weren't allowed at the reception so you stayed with Auntie Rosie. I had expressed milk for you in the week leading up to the wedding so you didn't go hungry or scream her house down. Thank goodness I took a breast pump to relieve my poor breasts at the reception; you needed the extra 6oz before we got home almost as much as I needed the relief - Auntie Rosie had to come and get it!

The wedding was really lovely and Auntie Laura looked absolutely stunning. I missed you terribly though so we didn't stay very late. The next wedding is in May, for two of Daddy's uni friends and then we're off to sunny Spain for Auntie Hannah's wedding to Uncle John.
